Palma di Montechiaro became famous all over the world thanks to the success of "The Leopard" writed by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa. Today it is impossible to speak about Palma without quoting the Leopard. Palma is the "Donnafugata" of the novel. The Lampedusas were great at Palma. They were called "race of saints". The austere life and social works of the "Duke Saint" were extolled by a popular song collected by Pitrè. For the tourist, entering the monument baroque or the Ducal Palace with its stupendous caisson ceilings is like taking a leap back in time. For gourmets, there will be a unique opportunity: to bite, like " Don Fabrizio", on the famous almond cakes and drinks the wines of Duca Santo
